Biography
Ricardo de la Riva revolutionized BJJ by creating the De La Riva guard. A Carlson Gracie black belt (1986), he famously defeated Royler Gracie in 1985 using this technique and produced notable black belts including Rodrigo and Rogerio Nogueira.
