Owen Jones

ADCC European Trials winner Owen Jones rose from a 2023 qualifier victory to fourth place at the 2024 ADCC World Championship.

Biography

Owen Anthony Jones, born in London in July 2004, emerged on the professional grappling circuit through a rapid sequence of ADCC results. He won the 66-kilogram division at the 2023 ADCC European qualifier, then placed fourth at the 2024 ADCC World Championship. His run there included victories over Gabriel Sousa and Gairbeg Ibragimov. Jones began jiu-jitsu in October 2017, when he was thirteen, after accompanying his sister to classes. He also played rugby, leaving the sport at fifteen to concentrate on grappling. His training later took him to B-Team and Los Bandidos, while he continued to credit longtime instructor David Cartwright-Khoza. BJJ Heroes lists his association as Apex Jiu-Jitsu.
