Josefine Modig came up at Wulfing Academy Haugesund — Tommy Langaker's programme on the Norwegian west coast — and turned that grounding into one of the strongest brown-and-black-belt records in Scandinavian female no-gi. As a brown belt in 2023, she won both the IBJJF No-Gi World and No-Gi European Championships in her division, three Swedish national titles, and the 1st ADCC European Trials at -55 kg.
At black belt she has continued at the same altitude, taking 3rd place at the 2025 ADCC EMEA Trials W-55 kg. She has since relocated her training base to Checkmat Malmö, plugging into one of the strongest no-gi rooms in Sweden while continuing to compete under her Norwegian flag.
She represents the modern Wulfing-to-international pipeline at the women's end of the sport.
