Elyes Abid is the senior Norwegian representative of the Roger Gracie line, holding a black belt under Roger Gracie himself. He runs Drammen Kampsport as head coach and oversees the Roger Gracie Academy Norway umbrella, with belt-promotion authority that has extended to the RGA Oslo room.
His martial-arts profile is wider than jiu-jitsu. He also holds a black belt in Krav Maga and founded the International Krav Maga Federation (IKF), one of the larger independent Krav Maga organisations to come out of Scandinavia. That dual identity — competition-line BJJ on one side, self-defence-driven Krav Maga on the other — gives his programme an unusual scope inside Norway.
Inside the country's Roger Gracie network, Abid is the administrative and technical spine.
