Carlos Henrique

Carlos Henrique Rosa da Silva trained with Francisco Mansur and later guided students including André Terêncio and Leandro Lora.

Biography

Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1971, Carlos Henrique Rosa da Silva began training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu at four in Francisco Mansur's children's program. According to BJJ Heroes, Mansur awarded Henrique his black belt in December 1988, and Henrique was a founder of the Carlos Henrique Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy, which the site says began in 1990. The recorded teacher-student relationships trace the later part of his career. André Terêncio's biography says that he trained only under Henrique from white belt to black belt. After opening his own school in 2002, Terêncio later rejoined his former teacher and colleagues. Leandro Lora's biography identifies Henrique as one of his early coaches at Mansur's academy and says that Henrique awarded Lora every belt through his black belt in July 2010. An October 2010 Graciemag report described Henrique as a Brazil-021 black-belt teacher and one of its leaders. At that time, the report said he had spent 33 years in jiu-jitsu and had promoted more than 20 black belts.
