Rodrigo Cavaca

IBJJF lists Rodrigo Cavaca first in Ultra Heavy at its 2010 World Championship and quotes him on three months of foot-lock teaching.

Biography

In an IBJJF interview, Rodrigo Cavaca said he started training jiu-jitsu at an Alliance branch in Santos in December 1999. IBJJF’s official 2010 World Jiu-Jitsu IBJJF Championship results list him first in Adult / Black / Male / Ultra Heavy and third in Adult / Black / Male / Open Class. In an IBJJF interview, Cavaca described returning to Santos after studying a straight foot lock in the United States. He said he adapted the technique and taught it to his students in every daily session for three months. In the same interview, he said he had trained 14 IBJJF World Champions. That interview also presents Zenith as a team founded in 2013 by Cavaca and Robert Drysdale. His 2010 World result sits alongside what he said in the IBJJF interview: after returning to Santos, he devoted three months of daily sessions to teaching the straight foot lock.
