Lowell Anderson is an American Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and member of the historic 'Dirty Dozen' — the first twelve non-Brazilians to earn a BJJ black belt. He received his black belt from Fabio Santos, a Rickson Gracie lineage instructor based in San Diego. As one of the Dirty Dozen, Anderson helped establish BJJ in the United States during the critical globalization period of the 1990s, when the art was still virtually unknown outside Brazil.
