Kristoffer Engen teaches adult BJJ and No-Gi at Frontline Academy Drammen as a grappling specialist within one of the Frontline network's more competition-active rooms. His 2019 was a productive year on multiple fronts: silver at -88.3 kg blue belt at Sande BJJ Cup, an intermediate -83 kg appearance at Scandinavia NoGi Open, and undefeated debuts in both professional Muay Thai and amateur MMA.
The combination — submission grappling, striking and cage work, all completed within a single season — is unusual even inside Frontline, where most practitioners specialise more narrowly.
His instructional work at the academy centres on no-gi and competition-oriented grappling, where his own mat time and the steady output of senior Frontline Drammen coaches give him the technical material to run the room. Engen is one of the practitioners holding the no-gi end of the Drammen schedule together.
