Eirin Cathrine Nygren is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Eduardo "Teta" Rios and one of the pioneering female competitors in Scandinavian BJJ. She began training at Frontline Academy in Oslo in 2008 and quickly established herself as an elite-level competitor.
At coloured belts Nygren built a remarkable record: four-time IBJJF European Champion across blue, purple and brown (double gold at brown), Copa Podio invitational winner, and a 2014 IBJJF World Championship competitor at brown belt. In 2017 Teta Rios promoted her to black belt, making her one of the first Norwegian women to reach the rank in BJJ. As a black belt she has continued to compete at the highest level, including a runner-up finish at the IBJJF World Master Championship and an appearance at the 2024 IBJJF World Masters.
In 2017 Nygren opened the Frontline Academy Örebro affiliate in Sweden — the first Frontline expansion across the border — where she serves as head instructor. The Örebro academy has since rebranded as RÅ Kampsportsakademi while retaining its Frontline lineage. Alongside her competition career she holds a master's degree in leadership and organisational psychology and runs women's training camps through Ladies Only BJJ.
