Christian Graugart

Christian Graugart linked a Copenhagen academy, visiting practitioners, and training camps into the community behind BJJ Globetrotters.

Biography

Christian Graugart is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt who built community through an academy in Copenhagen and BJJ Globetrotters. His 2023 instructor profile on the official BJJ Globetrotters site says he began training in 2000, founded the Copenhagen academy he ran for fifteen years, and considered BJJ Globetrotters his biggest achievement. In that account, the achievement was the community-building work, not his competition record. In a 2013 interview, Graugart described teaching and training at CSA.dk, then ten years into its run. The book recounted his journey around the world to train BJJ. He traced BJJ Globetrotters to the network that formed after his book and described the affiliation as based on friendship and training rather than a traditional organization. The camps grew from the same pattern of connection. Graugart said CSA began gathering its international guests for training camps. Across these accounts, competition sits to the side; the central thread runs through the academy, its visitors, the camps, and the wider training community.
