Biography
Aristo Manzouri, born in 1963, has been on the Frontline Academy Majorstuen mat as a martial-arts trainer since 1993 — older than most of the Norwegian BJJ scene he now coaches inside. Over four decades on the mats he has trained across boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, wing chun, grappling, aikido and kali, a breadth that very few contemporary Norwegian instructors can match.
That career has produced multiple world and Norwegian champions in MMA, boxing and kickboxing — a body of work that gives Frontline its quietly old-school technical depth on the striking side, in a club now better known internationally for its BJJ.
When Frontline Academy threw him a 60th birthday celebration in 2023, the milestone underlined what he has become inside the gym: an institution. He is still actively coaching, and remains a connective figure between Norwegian striking culture and the modern Frontline programme.
