Daniel Haglind

In 2023, Daniel Haglind set out BJJ Labbet: tactical study for blue belts and above.

Biography

Daniel Haglind began BJJ in Halmstad in 2004. After instructors left, he taught alongside Tobias Höst as a white belt, repeatedly visiting Peter Blackwell in Malmö. Halmstad Kampsport credits Blackwell and Leo Vieira with awarding his black belt in 2009. Its instructor biography describes psychology studies focused on sport and work in advising, coaching and leadership since 2005. It presents teaching and watching students develop as pleasures in his work. In 2020, he told Fighter Magazine about balancing teaching, work and family. National-team help involved individual funding, training and competition planning, and sponsor advice. Distance limited sharing; he considered judo and jujutsu models, exchanges and a camp. His responsibilities took another shape during the pandemic. The federation's 2020 report names him as responsible for national-team activity and describes follow-up shaped by each participant's needs: a short call for some, a longer conversation for others. When a Bosön camp was canceled, lectures replaced the gathering. Helena Hugosson spoke about organizing training over time; Haglind, as elite lead, addressed motivation. Digital federation activities also made it easier for him to attend professional learning. In February 2023 he wrote for his club about traveling to Paris with the national team. He recalled six or seven European Championship appearances as a competitor, but dwelt on the shared experience: training, traveling, competing and staying together. He hoped Halmstad members would make a club trip of their own. That September, his signed description of BJJ Labbet set out a teaching offer for blue belts and above. Studying techniques, movements and grips in detail was intended to develop tactical thinking for competition. The club's 2025 leader guide places competition beside enjoyment and lasting shared development. It asks partners to respect individual pace and instructors to build relationships with athletes, parents and fellow coaches.
