Abdurakhman Bilarov

Russian BJJ black belt from Dagestan who won the 2017 ADCC European Trials and UWW 100 kg grappling world titles in no-gi (2019) and gi (2021).

Biography

Abdurakhman Bilarov is a Russian Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt from Dagestan whose competition record spans ADCC trials and United World Wrestling grappling. He entered BJJ through wrestling. In a February 2015 interview, he said he had begun BJJ in Dagestan around 2011, gradually moving across from wrestling, and had trained under Rafael Haubert for two years. That interview followed the performance that brought wider attention to his jiu-jitsu. At Berkut Challenge, BJJ Eastern Europe reported, the brown belt defeated three black belts, including Claudio Calasans in the final. Bilarov called it the most important victory of his career to that point. He was still a brown belt when he broke through; BJJ Heroes reports that he reached black belt under Haubert later in 2015. Around that period, sources linked Bilarov to Team Nogueira. In the 2015 interview, he thanked Team Nogueira Dubai and the Abubakarov club. The affiliation belongs to that stage of his career rather than a documented current role. His later results crossed distinct competitive circuits. The published 2017 ADCC second European Trials results place him first in the under-98.9-kilogram division, representing Team Abubakarova and Russia. In 2018, United World Wrestling's official European Grappling Championship book ranks him first for Russia in both the senior men's 100-kilogram gi and no-gi divisions. A Graciemag survey that year also named him among Russia's biggest gi competitors. In 2019, UWW's official World Grappling Championship book ranks Bilarov first for Russia in the senior men's 100-kilogram no-gi division and records his victory over Niccolo Bartolazzi in the final. Two years later, UWW's European championship book again places him first in both gi and no-gi at 100 kilograms. Its 2021 world championship book ranks him first in the men's 100-kilogram gi division, where the results list him under RWF. The 2019 no-gi and 2021 gi world results are UWW grappling titles, distinct from an IBJJF Brazilian jiu-jitsu world championship and from his 2017 ADCC trials win.
