Adilson de Souza

Adilson de Souza introduced Marcos to BJJ and gradually brought its techniques into his Judo classes.

Biography

According to BJJ Heroes, Adilson de Souza introduced Marcos to Brazilian jiu-jitsu and gradually brought jiu-jitsu techniques into his Judo classes as interest grew. That same profile places Adilson between Octávio de Almeida and Marcos in its lineage sequence. According to another BJJ Heroes profile, Marcos, Roberto Satoshi, and Mauricio were Adilson’s children. A 2011 GracieMag report describes Marcos working with his older brother Mauricio to build a Bonsai branch in tribute to their father. Another report from 2011 identifies 2011 as Adilson de Souza’s death year.
