Biography

Paulo Roberto dos Santos Peixoto, known as Paulo Peixoto and by the nickname Paulinho, is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt who became head coach at Frontline Muay Thai, the Roger Gracie Academy's affiliate in Oslo. Results from the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) show him winning age-based masters divisions at European tournaments in 2014 and as recently as 2026. According to Frontline's trainer page, where he appears as Paulo "Paulinho" Roberto, he earned his black belt in 2004 under Eduardo Venâncio and Ricardo De La Riva. The two teachers belong to the same line: Venâncio, known as Brigadeiro, started the Brigadeiro Jiu Jitsu association and received his own black belt from De La Riva, according to BJJ Heroes. The trainer page also presents Peixoto as having a professional record in mixed martial arts (MMA) from Brazilian promotions. His post at Frontline covered more than jiu-jitsu: by May 2017 the gym listed him as head coach for MMA and submission wrestling as well. In April 2020 the Facebook page of Roger Gracie Academy Oslo announced a jiu-jitsu session with him at Frontline. Beyond Frontline, Harstad BJJ, a club in Harstad, Norway, announced a seminar weekend with him for June 14–16, 2024, and on January 3, 2025, Oslo Fight Center invited people to train Brazilian jiu-jitsu with him, saying its intake of beginners would start on January 6. At the 2014 Paris International Open, registered for the team OXY, he won the master 1 black-belt lightweight division. At the event's no-gi counterpart, contested without the jiu-jitsu jacket, he won the same division, which listed three athletes. At the London Fall International Open in 2019, entered for Roger Gracie Oslo, he placed first in a master 1 lightweight division that listed two athletes. In 2025 and 2026 he competed in the master 3 divisions, registered for Lapidar Jiu-Jitsu. At the no-gi Venice Jesolo International Open in 2025 he won both the middleweight division and the open class, which is not divided by weight; each listed three athletes. At the Rome Fall International Open that year he placed first in a middleweight division that listed two athletes. In 2026 he won the master 3 lightweight division at the Master International Jiu-Jitsu Championship – Europe.
