David Beluche

David Beluche's pupils described talking with him to manage nerves before competing.

Biography

Legacy's biography traces David Beluche's jiu-jitsu learning under Timothy Ewing to 2011 and youth coaching to 2012. It describes structured physical and mental preparation, and training with Eduardo Telles, Andre Galvao and Robson Moura. By May 2016, La Prensa was identifying him as Diego Goldner's personal coach at Gracie Barra, where the pupil trained six days a week. In June, Lucas and Sebastián Goldner described talking with Beluche about pre-bout nerves, alongside support from parents and friends. He also cofounded Discovering Jiu Jitsu Talents, according to Legacy. In 2019, he described a circuit with 2017–18 editions and adults joining late in 2018. Three rounds were planned at Universidad de Panamá's Curundú dome. He wanted stronger youth competition, community growth and school involvement, and hoped to reward the most technical competitor with an overseas entry. For him, BJJ also meant considering different viewpoints, staying calm and approaching everyday problems patiently. In February 2024, COS described his work at Legacy Albrook with Lucas Delan Goldner and Victoria de León, preparing since June 2023 for a planned March Pan American championship. Training covered takedowns, guard passing, control and submissions, strength work, food and recovery. Beluche also emphasized psychological preparation so demanding training could remain enjoyable. Legacy, which names him as its founder, describes teaching adapted to students' goals, needs and experience.
