Chayse Chondelle Diekema

Chayse Diekema (b. 5 April 1999, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Pedro Lott who represents Team Frontline in international competition, particularly across North America. Her lineage runs Maeda → Carlos Gracie → Helio Gracie → Carlson Gracie → Ricardo Libório → Eduardo Rios → Pedro Lott → Chayse Diekema. At age 20 Diekema moved from Saskatchewan to Sherwood Park, Alberta to train full time at Pedro Lott's Frontline Carlson Gracie Alberta academy — Frontline's North American affiliate. As a coloured-belt athlete she put together a deep IBJJF résumé, including European Championship gold at blue belt without conceding a point, a Pan Championship gold by submission in the final at purple belt, and repeated brown-belt podiums at the Pan, Brazilian Nationals, American Nationals and European Open. At black belt she has continued to compete actively. Highlights include: IBJJF Nashville Fall International Open 2024 — gold at lightweight and gold in the open class; IBJJF American National Championship 2025 — silver at lightweight; IBJJF Chicago Spring Open 2025 — silver at weight and silver in the open class; bronze at the 2025 IBJJF Pan after a quarter-final loss to Luiza Monteiro. Her competition nickname "Chandelli" comes from her instructor Pedro Lott — a Brazilian-Portuguese rendering of "chandelles," a dessert that sounds like her middle name Chondelle.
