Charlyne Marzo

Canal Alpha’s 2019 programme introduced Charlyne Marzo explaining BJJ rules, submissions and scoring.

Biography

Charlyne Marzo’s father introduced her to BJJ in June 2013; training felt like closeness to him. Loïc Marchand’s 2021 portrait records her 2018 pharmacy-assistant qualification. Her grandmother taught meditation and offered work funding bills and travel. Training included Sada Kurimori’s school, Brazil’s ZR team and sparring with Vanessa Pereira in Switzerland. Marchand also reported her 2019 Tokyo World Tour win. Her CHF6,000 plan allocated two-thirds to children’s BJJ premises and training, the rest for at least six months on site launching it. Fundraising later succeeded. Canal Alpha’s October 2019 written programme presented her explaining BJJ’s rules, submissions and scoring. In July 2021, Canal Alpha described her return to Switzerland after abandoning a plan to settle in the United States. The broadcaster followed preparation organized around physiotherapy, BJJ training and a visit to physical preparer Ken Porchet in Lausanne.
