Andre Luiz Vale de Maracaba

Owner and head instructor of Maracaba BJJ in Mesa, Arizona, from Fortaleza in Brazil, with two submission wins on Sherdog's professional MMA record.

Biography

Andre Maracaba is listed as the owner and head instructor of Maracaba BJJ, an academy in Mesa, Arizona. He came to the United States from Fortaleza, in Brazil, and by the academy's own account he has gone on training and teaching since the move. The same page puts his start in martial arts much earlier: judo from the age of three, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu from the age of twelve. Sherdog's fight record holds two professional MMA bouts for him, both won by submission. At Roberts vs. Steinbeiss, promoted by Griggs Entertainment in August 2011, he caught Daniel Hopper in an Achilles lock 57 seconds into the opening round. In July the following year he beat Zach Mills at Cage Rage on the River 2, a RUF MMA event, by kneebar after 15 seconds of the first round. The same page gives his class as lightweight at 155 lbs, his association as Power MMA team, and Gilbert, Arizona, as the place he fights out of; those entries are undated, and the two bouts on the record are from 2011 and 2012.
