Amy Griego

Reviews describe Amy Griego’s hands-on teaching at Durango BJJ.

Biography

After invitations to open a gym with others, Amy Griego and Jonathan chose their own venture: Durango BJJ, opened in January 2020. She told the Durango Herald that the immediate support had overwhelmed and delighted her. She led women’s jiu-jitsu and self-defense classes while pursuing self-defense qualifications; the reporter watched her award a student a belt stripe. In 2022 reviews reproduced by MatMade, David Bobian described Amy and Jonathan’s hands-on involvement and their ability to turn difficult movements into understandable instructions. Ryan McGrath emphasized how readily they welcomed practitioners.
