Amiel Safaniev

Amiel Safaniev combined family grappling practice with learning at Perth Martial Arts Centre.

Biography

In March 2025, Echo described Amiel Safaniev learning gi and no-gi jiu-jitsu—with and without the jacket—alongside brother Elrad under William Dias and Mestre Goioere Muzenza at Perth Martial Arts Centre. Their father Marc created Human Movement Hub for his sons and sparring partners, with their main gym at home. The brothers also practiced wrestling and sambo; Olympic wrestling, BJJ black belts and UFC titles were family ambitions. Before that portrait, he had represented HMH FC at the 2024 ADCC Perth Open, finishing second in boys’ beginner 9–10 under 36 kg. ADCC’s 2025 Thailand League listed him first for HMH FC in its boys’ beginner 11–14 under 36 kg class. Later in 2025, he was among the Perth Martial Arts Centre juniors who competed in Abu Dhabi in November, as Echo reported in February 2026.
