Alwee See
Alwee See provided a home for BJJ classes at Busiido.
Biography
Former national karate practitioner Alwee See opened Busiido in Brunei as a small multi-discipline dojo. Eazy Anuar brought in a Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) class, beginning their partnership. Anuar later recalled classes of just three or four people at Alwee’s Busiido.
In early 2011, they planned a larger facility with investors’ backing. By Anuar’s 2012 interview, the program included beginner and advanced BJJ, jacketless grappling and open training; Anuar led BJJ, grappling and mixed martial arts.
In 2017, Tiffany Teo told The Scoop that training BJJ at Busiido had changed her initial dislike of grappling. Alwee remembered her commitment to working with the gym’s trainers and welcomed women’s participation in martial arts.
