Ali Dinar

Ali Dinar’s teaching connects Arabic-language instruction, seminars in Spain and a school network with a structured introduction to BJJ.

Biography

Ali Dinar’s teaching appears in Arabic-language instruction, Spanish seminars and the school network bearing his name. In August 2013, ArabsMMA introduced him as a Moroccan BJJ black belt visiting from Spain when he joined Hicham Hakam for a tutorial at O’Tatami. Their subject was reversing side control: changing position when an opponent controls the body from the side. A separate ArabsMMA feature that December identified Dinar training with one of his students who had paraplegia. In March 2014, a host’s account placed him in another teaching setting, leading a seminar for JA Jiu-Jitsu Murcia. It identified him as Zarate Granada’s head instructor and thanked Rafael Velho for organising the session. The club Ali Dinar Jiu Jitsu dates its beginnings to 2013. In its own account, its purpose is to welcome people of different ages and physical builds into a shared training environment. Its branch list names Dinar as the professor in Granada, based at Strong Fight & Fitness in Churriana de la Vega. Other listed branches are taught by Jesus Cara in Almería and Akhmed Zaman in Birmingham. The school’s introductory course gives that teaching a concrete structure. New students work on basic techniques and concepts through controlled drills without active sparring. Classes start with a warm-up, move into technical practice and finish with stretching.
