Alan Mottais trained under Baptiste Landais in Nantes before teaching children and adults at Moka Team 443.

Biography

Alan David D. Tinh Mottais is a French jiu-jitsu competitor whose teaching has grown from children’s classes to sessions for both students and instructors at Pompomgalli. According to his Teedup athlete biography, Mottais began Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Baptiste Landais at Moka Team 443 in Nantes. Initially responsible for children’s classes, he later extended his teaching to adults. The same account credits him with two years of technical development in ne-waza, or ground grappling, within the France Judo system, and with representing France through the CFJJB, the French Brazilian jiu-jitsu confederation. His staff card at Dojo Nantais lists him as a jiu-jitsu assistant who is studying toward the BPJEPS APT qualification. France Judo lists Mottais of Dojo Nantais as the 2022 European silver medalist in men's under-21 ne-waza at 62 kg. In 2023, he took silver for Moka Team 443 at the European IBJJF Championship in the men's adult blue-belt light-featherweight division, at 64 kg. A Tribuna reported a tied final against Thiago Frazão, with a unanimous referee decision awarding Frazão the win. Later in 2023, Mottais won gold for Moka Team 443 at the Paris Fall IBJJF Open in the men's adult blue-belt light-featherweight division at 64 kg. In February 2025, Pompomgalli hosted him for four consecutive teaching evenings. Its report describes him then as a purple belt and CFJJB France-team member. Around twenty people attended each evening, including students and instructors. He also joined Philippe and Anne Ferrandi in congratulating Nassim Kasbawi on his promotion to blue belt.
